We are situated at the
Pahiatua Station, two kilometres west of the township and have the restored
ex-New Zealand Railways standard railcar Rm 31 and are at present restoring
Wairarapa railcar Rm 5 and twinset railcar, Rm133.
We are amongst a
select group of railway museums that is fortunate enough
to enjoy the privilege of having a railway station and
mainline access.

Following driver training
and certification it is hoped to have Rm31 'Tokomaru' running mainline
trips from her home at Pahiatua sometime prior to 2009.

Pahiatua
Raiway Station is the location of the Pahiatua Railcar
Society Inc. and the present Station building is a 1971
built replacement for the original 1897 building which
was demolished. This 1971 structure is unique in that it
is among the last survivors of this type of wooden
structure built for the N.Z.R. Following on from that
time N.Z.R. buildings were built using concrete and
concrete block materials.
